ARNS have a number of exciting opportunities available to join our Sub Committees. Please see the information below regarding each of the roles that are available.

Pleural Lead - ARNS Respiratory Disease Sub Committee

Are you a current member of ARNS and working in a pleural disease setting? 

Do you have a keen interest in the future of pleural disease management and wish to influence National discussions regarding this subject?

What is the Role of the ARNS Pleural Disease Lead?

The pleural disease lead sits with the Respiratory Diseases subcommittee alongside, alongside our leads for Asthma, COPD, Bronchiectasis, CYP, ILD and Acute Care.

As the pleural disease lead within the sub-committee there will be occasional requirement to represent ARNS at meetings such as round table meetings or consultations. ARNS will refund travel for these if not covered by the organiser. You will also be expected to collate expert comments and guidance on various stakeholder consultations such as NICE, BTS, NHSE, UK Pleural Society, NatPSA etc.

The term of office is an initial 2 years with an option to extend for a further 2 years. 

All sub-committee members are required to attend up to 2 strategy days per year, held the first week in November and immediately prior to the annual conference in May, for which there is an honorarium and travel costs where required. In addition, it is expected that there will be 4 virtual subcommittee meetings per year.  You will receive a fully funded place at the ARNS conference in recognition of this.

Joining an ARNS sub-committee is a really great way to enhance your career development and have a real influence in the future direction of respiratory nursing.

Respiratory Therapeutics Lead - ARNS Diagnosis and Therapy Sub Committee

Are you an ARNS member and currently working in a Respiratory role?  Do you have a keen interest in the future pharmacotherapy, and non-pharmacotherapy treatments for respiratory patients, and wish to influence national discussions regarding this subject?

The Respiratory therapeutics lead sits within the Diagnosis and Therapy subcommittee alongside, Sleep and Ventilation, Pulmonary rehab, Oxygen, Smoking cessation, and Diagnostics.

As the Respiratory therapeutics lead within the sub-committee there will be occasional requirement to represent ARNS at meetings such as round table meetings or consultations. ARNS will refund travel for these if not covered by the organiser. You will also be expected to provide comments and guidance on various stakeholder consultations such as NICE, BTS and others.

Sleep and Ventilation Lead - ARNS Diagnosis and Therapy Sub Committee

Are you an ARNS member and currently working in a Sleep and Ventilation role?  Do you have a keen interest in the future of sleep and ventilation such as treatment of obstructive sleep apnoea as well as more complex patients with ventilatory failure, and wish to influence national discussions regarding this subject?

The Sleep and Ventilation lead sits within the Diagnosis and Therapy subcommittee alongside, Prescribing, Pulmonary rehab, Oxygen, Smoking cessation, and Diagnostics.

As the Sleep and Ventilation Diagnostic lead within the sub-committee there will be occasional requirement to represent ARNS at meetings such as round table meetings or consultations. Acute Care Lead - ARNS Respiratory Disease Sub Committee

This exciting role offers the opportunity to lead, innovate and develop all areas for respiratory care within the acute setting.

Contribution to local, national, and international policies and guidelines (including NICE, BTS, ERS, PCRS) are part of the role.

You will be working with colleagues within ARNS to support and promote ‘gold standard’ nursing care across the UK and beyond.

This post is open to applicants currently on a professional register, with a passion for respiratory care.

COPD Lead - ARNS Respiratory Disease Sub Committee

We are seeking a COPD lead for ARNS!  We are looking for a member who is enthusiastic about improving the lives of people living with COPD through representing ARNS at local, national and even international levels.  You do not need to be an expert, just passionate about helping us to ensure respiratory conditions, particularly COPD, are at the top of the strategic health agenda. If that's you, we would love to hear from you. Joining the ARNS respiratory disease sub committee as COPD lead is a great way to have a real influence in the future direction of respiratory nursing and enhance your career development. The term of office is an initial 2 years with an option to extend for a further 2 years.
