COPD Management – free new resources from the British Lung Foundation
To mark World COPD Day (20th November), this year, the British Lung Foundation (BLF) will be undertaking two free keynote activities designed to support respiratory nurses and other healthcare professionals in the management of COPD in Primary Care.
Primary Care webinare – 18.30 on 19th November registration required
On the day before World COPD Day at 18.30 on 19th November, the BLF will be holding a free internactive online seminar for primary care nurses and other relevant healthcare professionals on COPD management in Primary Care.
Presented by advance nurse practitioner, Ren Gilmartin, the webinar will cover issues such as early diagnosis and patient self-management, and will be followed by a question-and-answer session with participants. All participants must register with the BLF prior to the event.
Interactive guide to best practice COPD care – launched 20th November
World COPD Day itself will see the launch of the BLF ‘COPD Pathway’ – a free new interactive online guide to best practice treatment options at all stages in the COPD patient journey, from diagnosis through to end-of-life.
Developed with and for COPD paitents and healthcare professionals, and in collaboration with Almirall, the pathway combines best practice examples and NICE Quality Standards with knowledge, information and experience colalted from COPD experts around the country.
The COPD pathway will be accessible free of charge to all healthcare professionals from 20th November at www.blf.org.uk/COPD-pathway
