Joint BTS/Intensive Care Society Guideline for the Ventilatory Management of Acute Hypercapnic Respiratory Failure in adults

The draft Guideline is now available for public consultation.  It has been prepared by a sub-committee of the BTS Standards of Care Committee (SOCC) in line with the Society’s policy for Guideline production (available on our website at: https://www.brit-thoracic.org.uk/guidelines-and-quality-standards/

The draft Guideline contains recommendations for the use of both invasive and non-invasive ventilation and promotes integration in the planning and delivery of both NIV and IMV in acute hypercapnic respiratory failure.

It is available to read and/or download from our website via this link: https://www.brit-thoracic.org.uk/guidelines-and-quality-standards/ventilatory-management-of-acute-hypercapnic-respiratory-failure-guideline/

Input at this stage is incredibly valuable and you will see that a feedback form is available on the webpage.  Please return this form to [email protected]
