Asthma and Lung UK (A+LUK) are proud to present an exciting opportunity to improve respiratory care and outcomes within your Integrated Care System (ICS).
A+LUK believe that every breath matters – and that the right to breathe freely applies to everybody, regardless of income, age, ethnicity, gender or background.
A+LUK are launching a pilot programme for 6 Integrated Care Boards (ICB) to select a senior healthcare leader with a passion for high quality care to become the ‘Respiratory Champion’ within their region.
Focusing on asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) initially, champions will be funded to promote better respiratory care and outcomes for one day per week in their ICB for 12 months.
Should the pilot be a success A+LUK aim to expand the scheme, incorporating a wider expanse of respiratory conditions in children and adults and working with larger numbers of ICBs. The pilot is funded by a grant from AstraZeneca, however A+LUK has full operational control, and we aim to attract additional funders in future years.
This is a developmental role and will boost the candidates’ experience and leadership skills: the core emphasis of the project is to improve patient outcomes in your ICS.
