You are here: Home / News / ARNS responds re delay to standardised packaging for tobacco products

posted on November 20, 2013

The announcement by Rt Hon Jeremy Hunt on 12th July 2013, concerning the delay to introduce standardised packaging for tobacco products was greeted with disappointment by ARNS.

Rebecca Sherrington, Acting Chair of ARNS, has written to Professor Viv Bennett, Director of Nursing at Public Health, England to express concern, stating ‘As an organisation, ARNS is hugely disappointed at the introduction of this delay. The delay will result in a clear obstruction in providing a strong and powerful public health message regarding the harmful effects of smoking’
