ARNS Annual Conference 2019 – Booking opens on 5th December

10th and 11th May 2019 – Coldra Court Newport, Wales. We are delighted to announce that next year’s Annual Conference will be held on 10th and 11th May at Coldra Court, Newport, Wales. We have an excellent programme of learning sessions, including:

  • Diagnosis and Management of IPF
  • Demystifying Respiratory Nurse Research
  • Workshops on Oxygen Prescribing and Motivational Interviewing
  • Diagnosis and Management of Cough

Call for Abstracts for the Annual Conference of ARNS 2019

For this years conference we are calling for abstracts for thematic poster and spoken presentations. Awards will be given for the best in both categories. These may include reports of clinical audit, research, innovation in practice, or evaluation of clinical processes and systems. Previously published or presented work is also welcome. Further to this we will also welcome case studies and clinical reflections. The abstracts will be judged on specific criteria (listed below) by an independent panel. Authors of the three highest scoring abstracts will be invited to deliver a spoken presentation, and will have an opportunity to publish in the Nursing Times. All authors of accepted abstracts will be required to make a short informal presentation of their work at their posters during judging; therefore at least one of the authors must be registered at the conference. Guidelines for contributors Abstracts should be a maximum of 350; Key themes include: Clinical audit and research, Innovation in respiratory nursing, evaluation of respiratory nursing clinical processes and systems. Case studies and Reflective practice. Abstract presentation: Title, aims/ objectives, methods (innovation, or service process change), findings / results. If selected for Presentation: 8 minute spoken presentation, with associated media, 5 minutes for questions. If selected for Poster: A1 (84.1cm width x118.9cm height) or A0 (59.4cm width x84.1height) Portrait orientation. The poster should display a clear flow of objectives, methods (or innovation/ service change) findings, conclusion and implications for further respiratory practice. ARNS RESPIRATORY AWARDS 2019

Achievement and Recognition Awards 2018/19 Make Your Nominations for the 2018/19 ARNS Awards Closing Date: Friday 1st March 2019 Do you know of an individual or team deserving recognition for their outstanding contribution to respiratory care? They might work in any sector involved with the delivery and or enhancement of respiratory care, this would include the NHS, private or voluntary organisations or higher education. What is important is that nominees go that extra mile to improve the lives of people who use respiratory services, their carers and colleagues. You can put your nominations forward for any of the four categories listed below. Awards will be presented at a celebration evening at the ARNS annual conference on Friday 10th May 2019.
